A “leadership roundtable” was organized and hosted by Urantia Foundation at its headquarters in Chicago on April 25–26, ushering in a new era of transparency and sharing among the Urantia organizations and project leaders.
The packed agenda covered four major areas of focus and included a number of presenters in each of these segments:
1. Internationalization of the Revelation, led by Andre Radatus, chair of the International Fellowship Committee for The Urantia Book Fellowship;
2. Growing Study Groups to 1000 by 2040, led by Joyce Anderson, Associate Trustee, Urantia Foundation;
3. Education Today and in the Future, led by Elisabeth Callahan, Executive Director of Urantia University Institute;
4. Expanding Outreach Through Multi-Media, led by David Kantor, Urantia Book Films.
Attendees participated either in person or by Zoom and included representatives from Australia, Canada, Israel, Malta, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Senegal, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Uruguay.
It was truly eye-opening to see the depth and breath of the work being done to spread the revelation across the globe, from continuing translation efforts that now span more than 60 years, to the very new opportunities and challenges presented by AI.
Importantly, the sense of shared mission was profound, yet it was also obvious that some duplication and inefficiency exists where we are not well coordinated. All agreed that meetings like this should happen at least once a year, should be longer, and that there are other people and topics that need to be included. And more immediately, most of us left with our own list of next steps and follow ups.
Sometimes working in a silo can make it seem like nothing is happening outside of us. This roundtable not only added some windows to the walls to expand our vision, but in some cases, created new bridges of trust and friendship where walls once stood.
There is a new and growing momentum in our movement, and an appetite to change “business as usual.” Please use the comment section to add your ideas or insights about how we can keep moving forward together, or send a letter to the editor at [email protected].
